Back to the land of the otter

Great to be back home after our 6 weeks in Kerala India.

Back to news that otters are now present in every county in England, including the previously otter empty Kent!

We headed straight over to Leigton Moss early on Thursday (jet lag or something keeps us waking up in early hours) and lo and behold we spotted (at great distance as the rather blurry pics show) this little otter. Apparently they are showing really well at Leighton Moss RSPB reserve just now with a mother and two cubs around and the occasional dog otter being seen at all times of day. Do yourself a favour and get over there.

Off tiger spotting in India; have a great summer

Have a great summer folks and stay wild for us. We're off tiger shooting in India (with cameras you understand) Have absolutely no belief we will see any Tigs but hopefully we'll return with a few pictures of beautiful birds and butterflies at least.

Here are a couple of videos taken of a Marsh Harrier hunting at Leighton Moss. It was on full zoom, so excuse the shaky camerawork! By the way, the noise is from nearby black-headed gulls rather than the marsh harrier itself.

Marsh Harrier Heaven

The very last trip to Leighton Moss before we head off for summer to the Indian SW Monsoon and Kerala wildwife.

Great views of the Marsh Harriers again. Also some comical red shanks all spooked by the black headed gulls.

Summer means wasps
